I’m sure we’ve all indulged in unhealthy foods during our lifetime. Perhaps we crave that syrup from the breakfast chain restaurant or drink one too many sodas with our lunch. It’s time to break the seal on high fructose corn syrup and the danger it can do to your body!

What is high fructose corn syrup, you might ask? HFCS, or high fructose corn syrup, is a genetically modified sweetener manufactured from cornstarch. HFCS contains more glucose than table sugar, which is alarming. Glucose and Fructose contained in fruits are not bad, however when you have this concentrated dosages of these ingredients without the additional phytonutrients, phytochemicals, and vitamins and minerals that are found in fruit then it becomes super dangerous to consume because you are no longer giving the body nutrition but just subpar fuel. Not only have foods in the last 50 years seen a major increase in using HFCS and obesity rates. High Fructose Corn Syrup has been linked to several chronic and life-threatening diseases, yet it remains approved by the FDA.

Studies have shown that HFCS causes a slightly larger weight gain than table sugar, which has already been studied and proven to be exceptionally unhealthy. Due to the components of the genetically modified sweetener, you’re at risk for unhealthy weight gain as well as excessive weight gain, bloating, and fat storage in the abdominal region. There’s an unfortunate and alarming link between the rise of using HFCS in our foods and obesity. Completely eliminating HFCS from your diet and replacing it with natural sugars will help to repair the damage done to your organs due to the long-term consumption of HFCS. It’s not too late to repair your body!

Unhealthy products high in sugar. Simple carbohydrates food.

High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), also known as glucose-fructoseisoglucose and glucose-fructose syrup, is a sweetener made from corn starch. As in the production of conventional corn syrup, the starch is broken down into glucose by enzymes. To make HFCS, the corn syrup is further processed by glucose isomerase to convert some of its glucose into fructose.

High Fructose Corn Syrup spikes your blood sugar and usually is found in foods that are also high in bad fats that lead to insulin resistance long-term. Heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are just a few more chronic and life-threatening diseases that can result from the consumption of high fructose corn syrup. Research has shown that HFCS feeds cancers and promotes their growth. That’s why many physicians will instruct cancer patients to eliminate all processed and unhealthy foods from their diet. Why wait until you’ve been diagnosed with cancer to make a change? By eliminating HFCS now, you’re one step ahead to a healthier future and uneventful medical history.

Dates are a fantastic alternative to genetically modified sugars! Organic Agave Nectar, raw unprocessed honey, and homemade applesauce from organic apples are also very suitable alternatives to table sugars and HFCS. Of course only consume those other suggested sugars in moderation. The key is to eliminate everything in your pantry and refrigerator that contains high fructose corn syrup. By removing the problem from your reach, you’re decreasing the risk of consuming those GMOs. Avoid restaurants that don’t offer locally grown fruits and vegetables as part of their menu options. If you’re unsure whether an item on the menu contains HFCS, ask your waitress or restaurant manager. Spreading awareness about high fructose corn syrup can lead positive changes in our society. The change starts with you!

Ditch that high fructose corn syrup and give yourself the gift of living a healthy and fulfilling life. You don’t need to compromise taste for health or your health for that sugary taste you crave! Use fruit to satisfy your sugar cravings.
